Guest
Hello, I'm BRAND NEW to this osCommerce service. I've had my site set up with ipower for a couple of years, but have never used this osCommerce stuff. All I'm really interested in doing right now is having the "currencies" and "languages" options on my existing site. I'd like the prices displayed on my site to show in foreign currencies and the languages to change based on the visitor's country they are from. Is this possible, or do I have to create a whole new shop, then use these features? Thanks in advance for you help.
Wendy James
osc comes with multi language, multi currency support. You just have to set it up. Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Guest
It's very complicated to pull elements from OSC for your html site. You can link into the OSC platform from your old site, but again, linking or inserting just parts is actually going to be much harder in the long run. It's probably best to start fresh. OSC is a great, stable platform and will grow with your business. There are quick, easy shops out there. Some are even free but none has the features you'll find here. I was hoping this wouldn't be my answer. Last thing I want to do is spend months moving my site over to osCommerce. UGH!!! Back to the drawing board... :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( Thanks anyway! ♥Vger
If your existing site is html based then you can install and develop your php based osCommerce website while still keeping your html site in place. Browsers look for homepages in a certain (set) order, and if there's an index.html or index.htm page on your domain then that will be displayed before any index.php page.
