Authorizenet AIM or SIM connection?

Naegle

Recommended Posts

I logged in to my Authorizenet account and was notified that the current "web link" system I'm using through my ecommerce site (oscommerce) needs to be updated to a SIM or AIM connection.

1) Has anyone heard of this authorizenet change?

2) Which connection does the original oscommerce package include?

3) Which method, AIM or SIM, is recommended and is there an reliable contribution available?

Thanks for the help!

The original method for AuthorizeNet is WebLink. They are supposedly phasing it out, but have been for years. OSC uses weblink in MS2. If you want to use AIM you can use the contribution called Authorizenet Consolidated v17_1. It also utilizes the CVV verifcation system. As long as AuthorizeNet uses WebLink, you don't have to turn it off. I use both systems at this time, and they both work with OSC.

Thanks Rick. That?s what I need to know. One other question.

Some authorizenet transactions are rejected due to the way the customer registered their shipping address.

Are there any contributions out there that would allow a custom message for transaction errors, such as "The credit card number entered is invalid....," or" The address entered is invalid, please call <the store> at <1-800-XXX-XXXX for assistance"?

Thanks
