sawfish62
I've been trying to find how I can have different sizes for products such as 6, 7, 8, 9 for shoes or s, m, l, xl for shirts in a dropdown list beside the product, so you can order the right size (obviously). Am I misssing something glaringly obvious because I cant seem to be able to do this? I've tried going into the 'product attributes' of the 'catalog' section in Admin but I get stumped by it. thank you
sosidge
The "Products Attributes" section is a possible anser - I'm not surprised you are stumped by it though - took me a while to understand it! One important note about that function.... it does NOT takje into account the level of stock of each option, in your case shoe sizes. So if you set stock at, say, 10, the catalog will let you sell 10 size sixes, or 10 size 10's, even if you only had five of each. Anyway, to use it follow the sequence below.... 1) Product Options - this is the name of the drop down box. In your example, "Size". Type size into the input box, and insert. 2) Option Values - what options appear in the dropdown. In your example, "6", "7", "8" etc. Choose the Product Option ("Size") from the dropdown, type the value into the input box ("6"), and insert. Repeat as required (you'll be beginning to pull your hair out now). 3) Products Attributes - linking the products to the options. Select your product from the catalog in the first drop down, select the option name ("Size") in the second, select the value (e.g. "6") in the third. Add any price adjustment that may apply in the input box (e.g. ?5 more for a size 10). Insert, and repeat as required. If you have hundreds or thousands of products and options you will REALLY be going bald by now! Personally I list different options as seperate products as I find the "Products Attributes" module too limited, but then again I only have two or three versions of a product, not half-a-dozen of everything. - osCommerce is fun! -

sawfish62
Thats great thanks 'sosidge'. It seems to be working but the shoe sizes appear random in the dropdown, they dont run in order. Weird! I looked at the QTPRO 'Mibble' but the installation seems a bit beyond me just now. :D

I'm not sure I got a definite resolution, I think you have to be very strict in the order you apply the attributes to the prducts. - osCommerce is fun! -
