Truncated Catagories Problem - Help ;-(

When I add the text to a catagory in Japanese like this first image

 

 

Then save it, it gets shortened like this

 

 

Anyone got any ideas on how I can fix this?

Try lengthening categories_name in the categories_description table. Something like varchar(96) instead of varchar(32).

With your trusty phpymyadmin. Select your database, find the categories_description table, select categories_name, and click the Change icon. Then enter your longer value in the Length/Values box, and click Save. But pls be careful, don't want to muck anything up... Best to back up your database before starting.

 

Those double-byte characters take more storage space, so you might want to go up to 128 or higher (up to 255)...
