trisha
I have recently changed over server companies and in the process the Administrative Passwords to the Admin Panels have been changed. I have tried everything that i can think of ....using all the new passwords with combos of the old ones and have had no luck. I have also tried to look for a htaccess folder in my file manager (FTP and on the server dirrectly) and also have had no luck finding this folder. All of my OsC files are still in place thank goodness. Is there a file (i.e. admin\index.php) that will show me what the user name and password has been changed or defaulted to? Thanks GOTTA LOVE THIS FORUM Trisha
Darklings
I have the same problem, just recently moved hosts. I also made use of the .htaccess files, but my guess is the problem is in the path in that file. .htaccess uses a path where it tells where the .htpasswd is located. That path is a server path and not just a url... like for ex. /usr/local/you/safedir/.htpasswd This is change by my server i supose, and i dont even have access to put my .htpasswd in there. I send an email to them two days ago to ask what my path is..... guess i'll have to wait before i can access my admin.... Kind regards, Tom Even in this dark place, yes, I am afraid of my own shadow. Guest
when you change servers, the htaccess files usually do not work, as the htpasswd file has not been transferred over and also the paths could be different. easiest way is to go in via your cpanel/vdeck and recreate them. they are hidden files, you can not find them unless you add a period in front of them (.htaccess) if you have shell access, delete the current one then recreate it. sounds like you both went to a host which doesnt give u much support.
