aussie53
I would like to be able to write to my files but when I open them I get the message Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/aussie53/public_html/myonlinestore/admin/images/categories/catalog. gif How do I get to /home/aussie53? I'm sure it's easy but I'm new (& stupid)
Guest
Not stupid, just need some language lessons and toolbox guides. Use an FTP client or your web host control panel to set file permissions. They're based on the idea of read/write/execute for you and users. A number like 777 gives everyone full access and various levels between like 644 allow limited access. Try searching here or the internet in general for "chmod" for a detailed explanation. Here's one:chmod tutorial
crash3903
you need to login to the server using a ftp program like dreamweaver or through your browser (If using linux) you can navigate to your file that you need to change permissions on - When you get there right clickand the conext menu gives you the permissions options regards Regards Mark A Reynolds
