Lost
Hi all, I'm looking for a way for adding complementary products that will only be available when the customer looks at a specific product- products that will only serve as add-ons or upgrades to other products, but will not be available for sale by themselves. Kinda like a BTO option from within the product_info page, without the actual BTO mechanism. Maybe even through a special cross-sell option. Hope I didn't confuse you too much. Any answer would be appreciated.
Guest
I did something interesting the other day. I created a product outside the category structure. It was in the shop if you typed the proper URL, but didn't show otherwise. The idea was to offer products only to Newsletter customers first before opening the products to others. You could do this and link the product inside the description of the "parent" product. Oh, wait, that won't stop them from buying the "child" product by itself. Sorry. Anyway, has anyone done the above thing successfully? I'm assuming cookies will make this work fine for multiple product purchases out of the e-mailed newsletter.
