Winterchild Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 First - This has been discussed lot's of times before. You should be able to find something if you search the forum. Second - Stating that it doesn't work, is not a good description of your problem. Increase your chance of getting help/an answer by saying what you did, what your settings are (in relation to your problem) and what doesn't work. Winterchild Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Are you on a local machine? With windoze you can only make a file read-only or not. Otherwise look at your host's control panel. If that doesn't work and you're not on a windoze server, use an FTP program (smartFTP, CuteFTP or whatever) right click on the file, somewhere in the menu it gives the option CHMOD. Windoze server and no host control panel option? search contributions for CHMOD Forum search Contributions search Documentation search (note: docs being adapted for MS3, may be different for MS2) 3 tips for better forum searching Want to post? Darklings Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 You use CHMOD to change the permission to read/write/execute or in the numbers you said. like 777 Even in this dark place, yes, I am afraid of my own shadow. Contributions | KnowledgeBase | osCommerce 2.2 pdf
Darklings Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 If you want fast help, pls discripe what you are looking for. Discribe what you use. All this stuff is verry case intensive. So pls, give us some more information if you want help. Like, are you working localy or on a hosted server? This is important to be able to answer your question about the filepermission. If you are on a hosted server it might be interested to tell us what you use, maybe a cpannel (controlpannel) from the hosting itself , or a ftp-program to upload the files manualy, tell us even witch one.. Be informative, and you will get good answers. Thnx Even in this dark place, yes, I am afraid of my own shadow. Contributions | KnowledgeBase | osCommerce 2.2 pdf

danielle183 Posted May 30, 2005 Author Posted May 30, 2005 Also be sure to set the order to the right status to be able to download(admin localization->order status) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whe i do what you say, a box comes up to the lest in file manager, when trying to edit pub, Mode- User-Group-World. Read x x x Write x Execute x x x Thats how it looks and when i change it from 755 to 777, then i click change, then it comes up with Set permissions on pub -> 0755 /home/danielle/public_html/cart. But the other one i need to change has already been done.
Winterchild Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 The instructions for Cpanel came from a Cpanel guide. I don't have Cpanel, so that's all the help I can give.. With download controller (if I remember correctly) you need to set the status which enables download. If you receive an order you need to set the status of that order to the status that enables downloads. Did you do this?
