Guest Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 I am getting duplicates in my configuration files. How do I get rid of them? When I click on each one there are several different dates of creation which makes me think that when I updated the database that it kept the old files without overwriting them. I am using a hosting company that allows me access through Hsphere. I updated the database through this interface and also updated OScommerce at the same time. I haven't started building a store yet, just getting involved and found this. So I can clean it up if I only knew how to do it. Here is an example of the MyStore config files that are duplicating: Zone Ohio Info Zone Florida Info Zone Florida Info Zone Florida Info Expected Sort Order desc Info Expected Sort Field date_expected Info Switch To Default Language Currency false Info Switch To Default Currency false Info Switch To Default Currency false Info Switch To Default Currency false Info Send Extra Order Emails To Info Send Extra Order E-Mails To Info Send Extra Order E-Mails To Info Send Extra Order E-Mails To Info Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development) false Info Use Search-Engine Safe URLs true Use Search-Engine Safe URLs false Info Use Search-Engine Safe URLs false Info Display Cart After Adding Product true Info Display Cart After Adding Product true Info Display Cart After Adding Product true Info Display Cart After Adding Product true Info Allow Guest To Tell A Friend false Info Allow Guest To Tell A Friend false Info Allow Guest To Tell A Friend false Info Allow Guest To Tell A Friend false Info Default Search Operator and Info Default Search Operator and Info Default Search Operator and Info Default Search Operator and Info Store Address and Phone Store Address and Phone Info Store Address and Phone Info Store Address and Phone Info Show Category Counts true Info Show Category Counts true Info Show Category Counts true Info Show Category Counts true Info Tax Decimal Places 2 Info Tax Decimal Places 2 Info Tax Decimal Places 2 Info Tax Decimal Places 2 Info Display Prices with Tax false Info Display Prices with Tax false Info Display Prices with Tax false Info Display Prices with Tax false Info

I went into phpmyadmin and I couldn't figure out how to reinstall the database. I'm really new to this so sorry for my ineptitude. TIA
Guest Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 run the install again which deletes and recreates the database
zsenlao Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005  Cmon! Cmon! Hi there! I have a suggestion for you! Here is a topic where people discuss situation with diplicates in database. I had nearly the same problem. My HDD was full of duplicates and I needed to get rid of them. But there was no opportunity to put that into practice because I had no program for such purposes. Then I began to search for suitable useful program tried some but soon founded one called Dupe Checker PRO. All my problems were solved! It was a good program which I think is indispensable for everyone. It saves my time: computer works faster when all files on your HDD are put in order. As I know the new 6.0 version of this program was released! And you can easyly find it with google. That is a really good program! IMHO... Good luck!
