[HELP]How Do I change Admin Folder Name?

Guest

Recommended Posts

For security reason I think I should change the "admin" folder name so others cannot easilty find it.

however, as long as i change the "admin" name to any other names such as "admin123", the configurartion won't work. The admin index page can still be shown, but any link will result in "No Input Specified."

I'm quite new and know nothing about php codes. Can anyone help me out abit here?

Do I need to change something @ the config.php (there's such a file when i was using PHP Forums), if so, where is it and how?

Manythanks.

You will need to edit both configuration.php files

the one in your main catalog folder and the one in catalog/admin

just look for the lines that say admin and change that to your new admin name.

I believe that will fix your problem.

Hi, i don't see a config.php in catalog or admin

i found files call configure.php in includes and admin/inludes/

I opened it , found nowhere mentions about "admin"....:(

Sorry... It is way too late for me to be posting. lol

One is catalog/includes/configure.php

the other is catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

I looked and it seems the only one you should need to edit is the one in the admin/includes folder

look for

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', 'c:/program files/easyphp1-8/www/store/admin/'); // absolute pate required

I think those are the only two lines.

err yours will look different but that should give you an idea.
