Remove "New Products for May" box...

Guest

Recommended Posts

Actually, the one 20 lines up (or around there) is the "new products for" that opens on the front page.

There is another one on the same index.php, that is the one you want to remove if you want to remove it from the page where your sub categories are listed. I believe it is lines 120-122 on a page that has not been edited yet.

Well...i hate to break it to you Jen, but Wendy are correct in this one.

If you read the first post, he does not ask to remove the new products for may on the front page. (Your suggested metode would do just that)

He does ask to remove the new products for may in the category page. and its the same code you mentioned but on about line number 121 from the top.

Go here: http://corkcityfc.buy.ie/catalog/index.php?cPath=67

Could someone tell me how to remove the box that says "New Products For May". Customers could easily get confused IMO and wouldnt see the sub categories at the top. Help appreciated. thanks.

Now go look at his site. He wanted the BIG OL box with the pictures on it removed so it is not confused with the categories above the box and they are not seen.

READ HIS POST CAREFULLY THEN LOOK AT HIS SITE!!!!

The code i gave him will allow him to do what he wants!!!

The code yes, but not at line 20 from the bottom......

Line 20 from the bootom removes it only on the front page....

Line 121 from the top removes it in the categories.....

This link, goes to a category:

If he wanted to remove it on the front page this is the link he would have given:

Also read the text:

Customers could easily get confused IMO and wouldnt see the sub categories at the top.

Which also tells you that its in the category pages he wants it removed not on the front page as such.

<?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?>

  • 2 weeks later...

open "catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php"

search:

"define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', 'New Products For %s');"

replace with:

define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', '');

or :

define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', 'editeditediteditedit');
