The e-commerce.

Need help with secure server! newbie..

Recommended Posts

hi everyone. I'm in need of some help! I keep getting this error

Safari can?t open the page ?https://reviewsnetwork.com/home/account.php?osCsid=79d98e6fdfe8a88cc8f84a234ab3f2b1? because it couldn?t establish a secure connection to the server ?reviewsnetwork.com

Any ideas on how to fix that? My webhost is lunarpages, maybe I shouldn't have checked the secure server when I installed oscommerce through their website :(.

If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. There are a few links on the net to recent discussions where others are having problems with https links viewed in Safari, this one is the only one I've found with some indication of a solution, but it sounds complex, and not owning a Mac myself I am not familiar with the details: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?p=2530104#post2530104

It has been suggested to me that the server may not allow access if it does not recognize the browser, and that some sites might not recognize Safari when it trys to connect and therefore not allow the secure connection.

The reason that reviewsnetwork.com can't establish an https connection is (apparently) because they don't have an ssl certificate. You should only tick the box to enable ssl during installation if you have an ssl cert - either shared or full. I tried it with IE6 and got a 'file not found' error.
