Manipulating DBs Using Mysql

Hi, folks. I have a client who is using OSCommerce and I have a question; I would like to maniplate certain prices in the product database using a very simple php script which would change price information.

The question is, when OSCommerce gets a request for a page containing product information, or a listing of products, does it hit the db every time or does it use a cache?

I ask this to discover whether I need to refresh a cache after updating the database using a regular mysql command.

Also, could I bork the setup by doing this in ways I have not thought of??

Thanks in advance,

jack

Gosh, I don't know. Am still stumbling around osCommerce myself.

Maybe if you look at Quick Price Updates in the contributions section to see how they do it, it might give you the answer you need.

Thanks for that. Useful stuff. In fact, why not just use that contribution!!!

Thanks again for the reply.
