Hi guys,

Im would like to add more text just between the bottom of the new products for soandso image box and the footer nav bar where the date is, so by going down my site would look like this

main text

new products

more main text

footer nav bar

If anyone knows how i could do this i would be so grateful

Kind regards

You can do that different ways. Everyone has their preferences

three ways are

1. edit the files themselves by adding the text directly to the pages where you want it to show up

2. add <?php echo TEXT_MYTEXT; ?> to all of your pages where you want it to show up then adding

// My Text

define('TMYTEXT', 'This is some more info, put whatever you want here');

to your catalog/includes/languages/english.php (or whatever language you are using)

MYTEXT being whatever you want to call it,

3. you could get a contribution such as "Define main page" and use that, and you can regularly change the text via your admin panel.

it tells you to replace <?php echo TEXT_MAIN; ?> with their code, but you could put it anywhere you want on the page and leave the main text alone.

Thank wendy,

But not sure if that is right for me, i have tried what you said but i did not work and i could not find where to place the text.

If anyone can make this a little clear or an easy way of doing this.

This is how i would like my layout to look like

Start

header logo

breadcrumbs

main body text

large image box (products new for may)

More main boby text

footer navbar eg: request since

footer

End

As you can see from above all i need to add is (more main text ) just below the image box ( new products) and before the footer navbar.

Hope i have not make this to hard to understand.

Many thanks in advance

Kind regards

Hi! I think I just created a sollution to your request if you haven't already found it.

In catalog/index.php near the very bottom add this above the <!--body_text_eof...

Basic copy of the TEXT_MAIN call with the change being MAIN2

 ? ? ? ? ?<tr>
? ? ? ? ? ?<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>
? ? ? ? ?</tr>
? ? ? ? ?<tr>
? ? ? ? ? ?<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN2; ?></td>
? ? ? ? ?</tr>
? ?</table></td>
<?php
?}
?>
<!-- body_text_eof //-->
? ?<td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>"
valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<!-- right_navigation //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'column_right.php'); ?>
<!-- right_navigation_eof //-->
? ?</table></td>
?</tr>
</table>
<!-- body_eof //-->

<!-- footer //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'footer.php'); ?>
<!-- footer_eof //-->
<br>
</body>
</html>
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php'); ?>

Then go to your includes/languages/english/index.php and add:

define('TEXT_MAIN', 'YOUR TOP TEXT IS HERE');
define('TEXT_MAIN2', 'TYPE YOUR BOTTOM TEXT HERE);
define('TABLE_HEADING_NEW_PRODUCTS', 'New Gift Selections For %s');

You can see where I put the Text 'Comercial Advertisement' to test this idea for you at my shoppe! Hope this helps you and anyone else that's interested! :rolleyes:

p.s. It's also convienient because it will make it easier to flow your information from MAIN to MAIN2 and you can see it is consistant.

Hi! Okay I see where you looking. The first thing I noticed was where your call from catalog/index.php is in the base location. What this does is put a new 'TEXT_MAIN2' just before the column right, footer, and application bottom. So look at the bottom of the page where:

catalog/index.php looks like this;

<!-- body_text_eof //-->
   <td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>"
valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<!-- right_navigation //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'column_right.php'); ?>
<!-- right_navigation_eof //-->
   </table></td>
 </tr>
</table>
<!-- body_eof //-->

<!-- footer //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'footer.php'); ?>
<!-- footer_eof //-->
<br>
</body>
</html>
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php'); ?>

Add this this above it:

<tr>

<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN2; ?></td>

</tr>

</table></td>

<?php

}

?>

So your finished code looks like:

          <tr>
           <td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>
         </tr>
         <tr>
           <td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN2; ?></td>
         </tr>

   </table></td>
<?php
 }
?>
<!-- body_text_eof //-->
   <td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>"
valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<!-- right_navigation //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'column_right.php'); ?>
<!-- right_navigation_eof //-->
   </table></td>
 </tr>
</table>
<!-- body_eof //-->

<!-- footer //-->
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'footer.php'); ?>
<!-- footer_eof //-->
<br>
</body>
</html>
<?php require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php'); ?>

Then in your includes/languages/english/index.php near the top look for your define('TEXT_MAIN', 'Your upper text appears here'); On the next line

directly after your upper text, just make a new define like this:

define('TEXT_MAIN2', 'Write your bottom text here');

Hope this clears things up for you and you find it helpful too! :D

You can either add align="center" to the <TD> tag before the text or you can put <div align="center"> before the text and </div> after.
