Guest
I am considering switching from Miva to osc and have a question about how osc handles the shopping cart and inventory. In miva when you add an item to your cart it takes it out of inventory. Even if the order doesn't go through and you just hold the item in the cart it is out of inventory. In order to return the item to inventory to be available for someone else you have to manually delete expired shopping carts in the admin. How does osc handle this? I know there is an option for signed in users to have an permanent shopping cart but I would like to know if the items held in that cart are counted as out of the inventory or not. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

The only time this would be a problem is if you only had one of something and two people were trying to purchase it at the same time.
Guest
So if I had one item left of something, one person puts it in their cart, logs off, then another person logs on and wants to purchase the same item it would be available to the second person? Thanks
