Hi, i wonder if anyone can help me?

I want to secure the admin panel, but not sure what to do or how to do it.

I have been reading the archives but seem to be getting more and more confused.

any help greatly appreciated :D

should have said, password protecting access, i tried on my server to protect the admin directory but nothing happened.

Sometimes you have to add a username and password to a directory, and then click an extra check box to "apply" it. Make sure you did this correctly. Are you using CPanel?

Hi, i went to the password protect directory in my servers control panel, i clicked on the enable it bit but nothing happened.

It said it was done but when i went to open the admin site again it was easily accessed. So i dont think it worked.

Try closing all browsers windows down and opening it again. Then hit ctrl-F5. If you still do not get a password prompt and you are sure you applied it correctly in your control panel, this is something to take up with your host.

i tried again, but managed to lock the whole shop lol, i dont want to lock the shop, but it wont work when i try to lock the admin files.
