I'm getting this error when I try to initiate the USPS (in osC-MS2.2)

I have an account with USPS as I have entered correctly.

(In Checkout.shipping.php screen:)

Shipping Method

This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order.?

? United States Postal Service?

An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations.

If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.

?

Any insight is much appreciated.

I am currently having the same problem. I have check and my USPS account is set up properly, verified the login and password with USPS, made sure my point of origin and zip code is in. Still I cannot get it to work. let me know what you find out. I have posted several times in several places and no new information.

Good luck,

Yes I have my user and password in correctly also, have no problem going directly to the usps site and logging in etc.

I also have UPS module working and that calculates just fine.

What's up with the USPS module.... anyone?????

Have you called 800-344-7779 to have them "move" you to their "production" server. That step is required.

Yes, have activated the production site and it tests at there end and if I go to their site.

Still getting errors.

I have the module installed and it works fine. Are you testing it on a production server? it doesn't always work on a local setup.

If you have your zip code entered properly, and/or have a working ups module, check to make sure your user name and password are correct. I found it very easy to set up, and no problem with USPS converting me instantly to a production server.

Had the same problem, same resolution. For some reason osCommerce isn't working right with the test server. I had to 'test' against their production server. Works fine though.

The reason it doesn't work with the test server is that the program is a finished program, so there is nothing to test. Once you get your user and password from the post office, all you have to do is call and tell them you are using osCommerce and they switch you immediately to a production server.

You may or may not get the usps module to work on your local server. Depends on if you can properly install the php/extensions/php_domxml.dll module, and if your system will allow the xml parser to work properly. You need to get the user name and password from USPS and be moved to a production server. No problem there, they are aware of the osCommerce shipping modules.
