GPSMatt
Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/uczedqwl/public_html/includes/languages/english/index.php Above error message is received when I try to edit pages on the OS Commerce. When I enter the site using an FTP package and try and change the CHMOD it does not appear to work as I can change the CHMOD and then go in straight away and the CHMOD setting has returned back to normal. I am using Cute and believe I am on a linux server. Can someone help so I can alter the details on the pages accordingly Thanks Matt
♥Vger
If you cannot change the file permissions using the chmod command via FTP then it's most likely you're on a Windows server rather than Apache with Linux OS. In that case, try to change the folder/file permissions via your web hosting control panel. Look for a File Manager. If this is a Windows server then all folders will need to be set to full permissions (777) and all files to 644 (including the includes/configure.php files). You should not edit pages using the osCommerce File Manager, it causes parse errors. Download the file to be edited, take a backup (just in case), edit in a plain text editor like Notepad, upload again - and if there's a problem restore from the backup you took before editing.
