weird extra cell in left/right columns

Hi,

 

not sure where the extra cell that distorts my design comes from ... I added table borders so you can see what I mean. To the right of both the left and right column, I get an extra pixel cell of the height of the whole column left/right (I think the cellpadding=2 makes it a bit wider).

 

My eyes are sore already from looking at the code, so hopefully one of you can find it and help me.

pretty sure, as I tried it without it too ... removed it on the left side, so you can see ... hopefully there is another reason?
