Guest
The idea is this: - I set up a "subscribe to our newsletter" box in the left column (pretty easy to add the box, it's blank though), with one of those default panels (input name and email address, subscribe button) - I'd then like to send my subscribers 10 follow ups, say once a week, for free (no monthly subscriptions), with an autoresponder on my own server (so i don't need to leave my pc turned on all the time) - Each email should contain an unsubscribe link I had downloaded a pretty famous cgi script (autoresponder unlimited), just to find out later that my hosting plan does not include PERL scripting (which i've been told is essential to the functioning of cgi) -__-" Now I don't know what to do... OSCommerce has its own newsletter functions, so technically it should be able to send emails "autoresponder style" even without perl, right? The point is: how can i have a professional subscribe box, with a button etc, that i can also put on another webpage, like ebay or something like that, using oscommerce technology for sending the mails? As far as i know the only possible way for OScommerce visitors to subscribe to a newsletter is registering and then ticking the newsletter box I really can't think of how to "trigger" the newsletter with a button, or anyhow else for that matter... is there anyone with enough experience to help me please?? i think it's very interesting for the whole community..newsletters are powerful marketing tools for us! You can check out my website and the "blank" newsletter box at Culture-Books.com (any non-newsletter feedback is appreciated too..thanks!)
