Pixy
Hi This is my site http://papercrazy.co.za/catalog/ I would really appreciate it if everyone could have a look at the site and give me some input as how to make it better. I am not to happy with the landing page and would like to be able to add images to the landing script (Welcome Note) Any advise or input would be appreciated. mark27uk3 Today, 03:44 PM Post #2 Mark Group: Community Member Posts: 896 Joined: 7-December 03 Member No.: 21,307 Hi, You should have really posted this in the 'My Store' section of this forum. This section is for general help not feedback. To be honest with you, I would put a lot more work in as all you seem to have done is changed the header and other little bits that make no difference. Take a look around at other peoples stores and see what makes them tick to give you some ideas for your own store. Make yourself happy with it and then ask for feedback! I am currently just uploading products and such. Pixy One day at a time - we all have to learn
moonbeam
I like your logo. I think your product pictures are to big. They seem to push your page to the right and out of wack. Maybe try to pull some colors from your logo to the page, like into the box headers. The orange circle pattern intergrated into one end of the box headers might be cool. You might like the fixed center contribution to straighten your page up. Nice work. Good luck "Woohoo, Just Havin Funnn!"

A slightly smaller image will give the page a different look. If these are 12x12 sheets, as they appear to be, you can set the image height and width in the configuration settings (admin>>configuration>>images) without any distortion to the image itself. Psst. My stickler is kicking in... dissapiontment is spelled disappointment.
RyanSmith
Wow, where to begin. This is too much of a default install to really give any decent feed back. Start by getting rid of all the infoboxes that you don't need. When I first look at the page, I have no idea what I'm looking at, or what your selling. I say it everytime, but luckly your not far enough in that it will be any problem at all, you need to install a thumbnail contrib. That should be your first line of business. Next, pick some colors that go with your banner(which has some potenital). Kill all the boxes you don't need(manufactures, whats new, manufacture info, notifications, tell a friend, languages(you only have one), currencys(you only have one), and reviews. This will make it look a lot less busy. Get some custom buttons (if your not a good artist, and can't do buttons like me check out oscommerce-buttons.org They have a pretty spiffy button generator that will give you better buttons than the default buttons. Get rid of all the dumb little osC icons around. They don't add anything to the site, and make it look cheap. Well that will get you a little closer to a decent product. It will probably take a while for you to get all those things done. Spend some time looking at what other people have done in this forum, and steal their ideas. Some of the sites are really nice, and you can get a good feel of what osC is capable of. Good luck with the site! osCommerce is a great piece of software with wonderful contributions. Spend some time in the contribution area. There are a lot of gems there.
