MUDi
Hello, I am very new to this. I have installed OsCommerce successfully, however there are some problems. 1)When I add a new category or a new product, I cannot upload the image. I click browse and select the image from my computer. It says: IMAGE DOES NOT EXIST. 2)I don't understand how it works. Anyone can access my .../catalog/admin/index.php file and do anything to the website. No password or anything is required to access the admin panel??? 3)How do I sign up with a merchant company and accept payments? I know nothing about it, please help. I did read the forum and could not find answers to my questions. Any help is greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Must be set to 777 2: You will need to create an .htaccess file and an .htpasswd file on your server. You may want to ask your host if they need to do it for you, or there is more information if you search the forums for .htaccess help. 3: Do a google search for "merchant accounts" and you will find tons of information there. You'll just have to choose one. Be aware they will most likely check your credit report, and you'll need a business bank account for them to deposit money into. ♥Vger
3)How do I sign up with a merchant company and accept payments? I know nothing about it, please help. There are a whole host of 3rd party payment providers out there (meaning you don't need your own merchant id, just a bank acocunt to transfer your incoming payments to). PayPal is probably the most widely known, and the easiest to set up an account with. Vger
MUDi
2 of the problems solved, thank you very much for help. However, I don't yet understand how to accept credit cards. I have been recomended 2checkout.com, but how do I begin. Do I sign up with 2checkout.com first? And then what do I do? Thanks in advance.
