dbolack
I've FINALLY convinced a client to move from the absolutely horrid and unreliable shopping cart system they'd used in the past to well, frankly, most anything else. I'm *trying* to make osCommerce work, but the client has some somewhat peculiar requirements that may make this impossible. I've solved some of them, but some I'm a little... perplexed by. Attempts at searching the boards have not found much luck, but it could simply be keyword choice. :) The BIG problem I need to solve is the client is convinced any "login" system will turn off shoppers. As this is a rather successful store doing things the way they *do* do things making change very traumatic for them. I haven't even tried looking at the internals yet; I presume that the user account is absolutely necessary for order completion, as all shipping info is stored there. Are there any contributions/hacks/tricks/etc to make it either possible for users who do not log in to place orders *or* to shuffle the checkout process around so that creating a user account appears to simply be part of checking out ( and presumably isn't a reusable account ) Has anyone else encountered this requirement and solved it? I'd really like to not reinvent the wheel.
