chea Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 People buy product in my store but it doesnt even show what they ordered. It also doesn't change the stock number or nothing. What am I supposed to do to fix this?
Guest Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 if you go to configuration, stock, you can change Subtract stock to "true" and it will reflect your product qty. Try setting your order status to pending in the payment module.
Wendy James Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 It is caused by people not returning to your site after making their payment on paypal. You can get the PayPal IPN contribution, or you can try going to paypal and into your merchant area and then set up the auto return. Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. chea Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 What does Paypal IPN do and where can I get that?
Guest Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Search the contribution area for PayPal IPN. -jared
chea Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 Everything works now as far as Pay Pal but now it isn't showing up as orders in my osCommerce control panel area.
Guest Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Install the master password (it's a contrib, also listed in the knowledgebase under Tips and Tricks). Login as that customer, see if they have all the items in their cart. Though the IPN module should take care of this, I suppose it's possible that it's not set up properly, and the customer wasn't automatically returned back to your website to finalize the checkout. If this has happened, the customer will still have everything in their shopping cart. You can check them out, specifying cashier's check / money order, then add a comment to their order specifying that you'll apply the PayPal payment that you've already received. The master password is a wonderful thing. -jared

Guest Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Does installing IPN erase all my custom work that I have done? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It depends on what custom work you have done. It's quite unlikely, though, that the IPN payment module will conflict with any customization you've done. Keep in mind that there are 2 ways to install contributions: 1) copy over all of the files, overwriting the files that you were using previously 2) edit the files that you have, incorporating changes from the new files in the contribution (occasionally, when the contrib author doesn't include decent instructions, this can be a pain, but that is relatively rare). If you choose option #2, you are virtually guaranteed that you will lose none of your customization. Have you customized the existing PayPal payment module? The IPN module would certainly replace that, but the changes would be for the better. -jared

Guest Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Its much easier for beginners with OSC to turn on their Auto-Return feature at their Paypal account. It seems that you've made a small mistake adding the Paypal IPN to your store. Did you make a backup first? Try going back to the backup and go to Paypal and turn on auto-return in your Website Payments area. Then when you have more experience with Contibutions, install the IPN. It isn't too hard when you get the hang of it and it is a little better than auto-reurn.
