How do I remove the manufacturer box?

I modified english.php to remove these strings:

// manufacturers box text in includes/boxes/manufacturers.php

define('BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURERS', 'Manufacturers');

// manufacturer box text

define('BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURER_INFO', 'Manufacturer Info');

define('BOX_MANUFACTURER_INFO_HOMEPAGE', '%s Homepage');

define('BOX_MANUFACTURER_INFO_OTHER_PRODUCTS', 'Other products');

On my pages, the manufacturer box still appears, but now the heading shows: BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURERS

I don't have a need for a manufacturers search. How can I remove it entirely?

in includes/column_left.php there is an include for the manufacturers box, remove that, now you only removed the language definitions.

  • 3 weeks later...

open catalog/includes/coulmn_left.php and change

if ((USE_CACHE == 'true') && empty($SID)) {

echo tep_cache_manufacturers_box();

} else {

include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'manufacturers.php');

}

to

// if ((USE_CACHE == 'true') && empty($SID)) {

// echo tep_cache_manufacturers_box();

// } else {

// include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'manufacturers.php');

// }

doing that will stop it from showing up but you can go back and just remove all the // if you ever want to show it again
