Signup Form Modification

I've searched thru the forums for a couple hours and have seen this question go unanswered many times over.

 

I?d like to ad fields to the signup form.

 

I?m familiar with MySQL and scripting in general. I?m not very familiar with the structure of this cart and PHP however.

 

Could anyone point me to a contribution or thread that discusses this with clarity or reply with instructions?

 

I?ve got a lot of time invested in this setup and would dread having to migrate to a commercial cart at this point.

first you determine in which table you would like to add the fields.

 

then you take a field which is already there like first_name for instance.

 

then in create account you add those fields to the form and to the queries and take the first_name field as an example.

Has anyone successfully added form fields to the signup page and can I see the code?

 

Maybe that is a better way to word it?

Try searching the contrib's for something like 'Add extra address line' - I know there's one called something like that. I haven't used it, but presume it would have instructions on how to do it that you can modify to suit your needs.

Depending on what you want to add you could use one of these and just change them to your needs... ie by just changing the text files
