Installing a Template

I've found a great template at Vn2 designs and I'm trying to install it to use for my store. However, I'm having a problem as a lot of instructions are left out...I'm new to configuring a server so I do need step by step instructions.

 

This is what was a part of the READ ME text file...the only instructions on the installation process.

INSTALLATION:

Install a base version of MS2. Upload (and overwrite) the

existing MS2 files with the files supplied in this .zip.

 

If you are not using a brand new install of MS2, then please

backup all of your files before attempting to install

this template.

 

IMPORTANT: The Creators of this template accept NO

RESPONSIBILITY for any harm to your code/shop/site in any

way, shape or form.

I've uploaded this file to the root directory and extracted the files, but nothing has been overwritten and my store still has the original design of the Oscommerce template.

 

Could someone tell me what next it is I need to do? TIA

 

 

Note: The server offered the option of an automatic install of the OsCommerce cart using a Fantastico program...so I don't know if that had something to do with anything.

I would guess that your shop is not in the root of your web server, you need to upload the files to the web folder where your shop files are located.

Ok, I transferred it to the folder and did my extractions there. It's working great right now. Thanks a lot.
