Viewing Files in browser problem

I am trying to set up my server to allow me to edit and test my oscommerce / php before uploading to my host server. All I get when I try to view them is the code in the browser window. Any ideas or pointers most welcome.

Cheers all

Copy your catalog/includes/configure.php and put this copy into catalog/includes/local folder.

Copy your catalog/admin/includes/configure.php and put this copy into catalog/admin/includes/local folder.

Now inside both the configure.php files inside the local folders set them both up as localhost and not domain.

( example.)

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://localhost); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers

Now you can view on local machine with out the need to change the configure files inside the catalog/admin/includes and catalog/includes files directorys on the live storesconfigure.php files.

If you are hosting on the local machine when the site is live rename the configure.php files inside your local folder say to configureabcdefg. because they can not be called configure when the store is live.

But when you want to edite the site and to view it as a live site on the localhost simply rename these files to configure.

Once you have finished editing simply rename the files inside both local folders to something other than configure again.

If that mkes sence to you

( WARNING )

I think I know what Im talking about.
