High Mysql loads?

Recommended Posts

We have installed oscommerce (2.2 Milestone2) with b2bsuite addon on following server:

CPU: Intel Pentium III

Version: psa v6.0.1_build030723.13 os_RedHat 9.0

OS: Linux 2.4.20-20.9

MySQL: MySQL 3.23.56

But the server loads very slow. Could it be becuase of the Mysql version (MySQL 3.23.56)?

I have attached some pictures of random mysql processes:

mysql_2.gif

mysql_3.gif

I'm not familiar with the utilty you are using - are those times in ms?

How many products/categories do you have loaded?

Your MySQL version is a bit old, yes - but I don't think this would cause too much of a slowdown. I think 4.0.22 is the latest "production stable" version.

When you say the "server loads slow" what exactly do you mean? The web pages load slow? How are you hosting the site?

Dedicated server located in Spain (company is a spanish based company, and visitors are 80% from Spain). The catalog has around 3.500 products. Around 1.500 visits daily. Diskspace 18GB. I think memory is 256Mb or 512Mb.

The page loads normally at morning, but at afternoon the page loads very slow for around 5h. I don't know if it has to do with the cache, mysql or the number of visits. But I know Os Commerce is a suite that can be used in extreme situations.

The pictures are taken from phpmyadmin.

Thanks in advance...
