Maintaining cookie info...

I notice that when I view the cookie set by the OSC store I run, it shows the expire date set to "at end of session". How does one make it so that when you close your browser, and re-open, it will maintain that cookie so that the contents of a customers shopping cart can be re-populated, say, up to a week a week later if they come back to the site? Now I'm guessing that this is because the ONLY place I see the 'tep_setcookie' function being fired off is when "force cookie usage" is activated. However, I would like to not turn people away, and that's what we find happens when we "force cookie usage" because although the message they receive is informative, some people refuse to enable cookies. So I guess what I'm wondering is if it's possible to set a cookie that expires in a month for those people that support cookies (to maintain their shopping cart contents) and allow those who don't support cookies just use the session id as usual?
