ritch50
Hi hope one of you clever guys can help. I have been trying to protect my admin folder for a few days with no luck. When I try to connect to the admin folder via internet explorer i get this: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required. this is after 3x attempts. I've tried loads of times but it refuses let me in. I been at this for a total of approx 20 hours now.... I am now trying with Htpasswd generator but no good. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Guest
maybe your host has disabled the use of htaccess ?
ritch50
maybe your host has disabled the use of htaccess ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont think so, my host is www.zen.co.uk and at zensupport.co.uk there is a support article showing you how to use it! It is a Colbalt Raq server if that helps.
Guest
Cobalt RAQ ? eeww, yuk (sorry, personal preference) For passwords, you need an htaccess and passwd file htaccess needs to be in the admin folder, but depending on the server, the passwd file is sometimes above or below the public folder Maybe you can post the contents of both?, leaving out the sensitive stuff
