Maybe im Blind

when i add a product how can i edit it so that it displays in front of another product in the catagoire? i dont see that option in the add new product form

Unless you change something, the default sort is alphabetic, by product name. You can install a sort contrib though, or change the order by clause in index.php (not positive, but I think that's where it is) to use a different parameter such as price.
