bad_lemming
I have learned quite a bit about SSL in the last day or two. One question, who's answer has eluded me thus far, has been bugging me like crazy. What should I use for my SSL URL???? I see some places where it is sugested secure.domain.com some where it is the exact same domain name (except the https part) Is there a difference? Is this basically a judgement call on what you think your customers will respond more favorably to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Guest
We just used the https://samedomain.com. When I'm surfing, I look for the little "lock" and don't pay any attention to the actual address, usually, except to make sure I haven't been transferred to a look-alike phony site. So I wanted them to look a lot alike. Wendy
bad_lemming
Thank you, appreciate the reply. I know squat about SSL, have been reading, but still feel like I am jumping in to a dark hole and don't know what i am going to land on.

Guest
Say what? You mean my own certificate? If this is what you mean -- we are having problems because the ONE problem I've had with my provider is that they won't help me with installing my intermediate certificate (just give me a pitch for buying through them, which is outrageously expensive). So I can't get it installed correctly & it gives errors (but is still secure). That's on my list to fix . . . somehow . . .
