Chezmoi
Hi, I have some problems installing oscommerce. I am unable to install the program by the osCommerce installing application. I type correct username, password, etc. and it shows: "A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES) Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings. If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company." So I contacted my webhosting company and they told me to use Installtron to install osCommerce. It worked well to reach the configuration and all options, however I can't view the final result and I can't put the program on my main page. I can put products, change language, but when I type www.mysite.com/catalog/ the program still asks me to install again... And when I try, I can't. So what I would like to do, basically, is to put the program on my main page so people can have direct access to it. Anyone can help me? Thank you! Chezmoi
Well I thought and maybe the program would be ok in the catalog folder, but I need to be able to see the result after configuration! Thanks1
♥Vger
The reason you see the install page is that the 'install' folder has to be deleted after the installation is complete. osCommerce has coding within it that looks for the 'install' directory. Some servers will just report that the install directory still exists at the top of the home page, while other servers will keep going back to the 'install' folder every time. Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It seems to work now! Thank you! p.s. Is there a way to change the "osCommerce" up my Explorer and replace it with my store's name? Thank you.
