My girlfriend has reached breaking point and I can't really see why.

She says we never go out anymore - not true we went out on new years eve.

She says I work too long into the night - not true I go to bed at first light

She says I love my PC more than her - not true I've only ever kissed my PC once

I think I have my life \ work balance worked out quite well really - I think she needs to chill.

Oops here she comes better not let her see me writing this -

Anyway - I am away for a weekend - so no posts or drop in's to forum Have a good one all

take the girlie instead the computer - i once sat down and played this one mmo for 1.5 years and by the time i got up, the girlie had already packed her things and slammed the door after she left :P

(yes, there was some other things of course too, but it sure didnt help out to spend my time just playing :D )

There just always was another heckkie/raid/whatever behind the corner...

He's mostly joking with the comments but talking about i accualy subject (i think)

so i don't know where to go with this so i'll dgo both way (no cracks)

joking way

-------------------------

lol yeah when i used to play (last one was WoW, but i started at EvE and played almost everyone in between. i'd sit down at the comp and sater playing whenever and sudenly a hour later it's time for bed, time goes by like crazy. when i was playing wow i was unemployed collecting unemployment (god was that fun) i stayed on the game forever. the onlything that saved my marrage at the time was that my wife was just as into CoH and i was into WoW lol

seriouse way

--------------------------------

yeah i played mmo's with a passion, i stoped playing WoW prob about 5 months ago (note to all, it the guild leader quites the guild breakes up hehe) but my wife to this day is still SOOO into CoH. it became a VERY big issue because all she cares about is the game, our marrage will prob end because of it, were already seporated now for a month. the prob is it's like a drug, u can't just "Cut back" you have to cut it off if u want to save your relationship. It's a all or nothing deal, hell the only reason im still together with here is because were married and we also have a daughter so it's worth that extra fight, but if we weren't married and/or did't have a daughter it would have been over quite a long time ago. you have to pick one or another the game or the girl, you have to chose

back to joking

----------------------

gamp play or sex.. pick 1 lol

  • 4 weeks later...

I think I'm tipping over the edge. Time for a vacation (I wish!) :'(

Last night I dreamed about installing a contrib in my store. That was ok, but then it evolved into a nightmare about trying to comply with the new requirements of the credit card companies taking effect next month. :(

You know you're losing it when your dreams turn to stuff like this.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.

You think you have got troubles

18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from DrinkingMates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as LadsNightOut 3.1, Football 4.5, and Playboy 6.9. Successive versions of GirlFriend proved no better. I tried a shareware program, Slapper 2.1, but it had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks. Eventually, I tried to run GirlFriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to

discover that when these two systems detected each other and they caused severe damage to my hardware.

I eventually upgraded to Fianc?e 1.0, only to discover that this product soon had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0. While Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeSexPlus and Cleanhouse2003. Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 could be very unstable and costly to run. Any mistakes I made were automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and couldnot be deleted. They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about

them. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary, Explorer and E-mail filter, and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and Whinge. These latter products have no Help files, and I have to try to guess what the problem is. Additional problems are that Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly,requiring

ShoeShop Browser for new attachments and Hairstyle Express which needs to be reinstalled every other week. Wife 1.0 also spawns unwelcome child processes that drain my resources. These conflicted with some of the new games I wanted to try out, warning me that they are an illegal operation.

Also, when Wife 1.0 attaches itself to my Audi TT hard drive, it often crashes. Wife 1.0 also comes with an irritating pop-up called Mother-In-Law, which can't be turned off. Recently I've been tempted to install Mistress 2004, but there could be problems. A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that if Wife 1.0 detects Mistress 2004; it tends to delete all of your Money before uninstalling itself.

Please help?

Steve old buddy - what can I say ? You have described the problem, the symptoms and the pain better than I have ever heard it told :D

Now if only osCommerce forum could come up with a contribution to solve this :D

I don't have a solution but here is some psuedo code for a handler subroutine:

// handler.php

If day_status = 'good'
    {
    call class: enjoy
    }
    else
        {
         if day_status = 'grumpy'
               {
               call class: TSR  // terminate and stay resident
               }
         }
     else
         {
          if day_status =  'very angry'
              {
               call class: exit_quietly
               }
         }

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database.

Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
