Bizarre situation...

I have a site; http://www.peppermaster.com

My webmaster was in the process of putting the oscommerce site together, it's generally functional, but incomplete. :( For example, the ssl isn't ssling. The recipe booklet isn't working and the look isn't complete.

A couple of months ago, my designer came down with encephalitis, got really sick, and became difficult enough to get a hold of; now I can't get ahold of him at all...

I have a basic understanding of html and can even do some minor code but am at a complete loss when it comes to C, MySql or Php.

Mostly I just need someone to help me get the site to where it would have been when the designer finished the coding, etc... So that I can take it over from there.

Can someone help me, please. :'(

Tina,

If you have specific questions, ask away. If you are looking to hire a developer, that isn't allowed on the forums.

Ok, I guess I was sort of looking for someone to do it for me... But, learning curve time must kick in.

First things first, then.

I can see the server set up in my admin, but I don't know how to access the files in order to edit them, they seem to have a password block somehow. Where? how?

I have dreamweaver, but am not sure if this would be the tool to use to edit the files and if it is, I don't know how to use it.

And assuming that this is the way for me to get in, lucky I am, my brother owns the server the files are on, so that's not a problem... Are there going to be passwords that the designer knows that I don't (aside from the server access codes, I can get those) that I need to be aware of???

Tina,

Talk to your brother about ftp password. He should be able to change it for you. DreamWeaver is a good programmer. Get a DreamWeaver for Dummies or something like it to learn how it works.
