Customer order not recorded at all

Hi. I have no idea what happened to cause this.

A customer signed up, ordered, and paid. Obviously didn't click through with PayPal so I got notice saying xxxxx paid for online store order but no items listed.

I got no notice of the order taking place.

I went to my tools to view orders - none for this order in pending, processing, or delivered.

I go into database, to the carts and there is this customers cart with items listed.

 

This has happened with none of my previous orders (that I know of)

 

Any suggestions on what happened, how to keep it from happening again, anything......

If you are using the module for paypal that comes with osc you need to go into your paypal account, click on merchant tools and set up the autoreturn so that the customer will go back to your site after they pay whether they click a link or not.

 

That should take care of the problem.

use http://yoururl.com/checkout_success.php as the return address

or whatever the directory struction for your site is

We have the same problem on a few of our orders with customers not returning after they have paid. We use the "Recover Carts" contribution to find these and for customers who have placed orders but not yet paid. Works well
