Cheque payment method not working?

Help!

 

in the admin site, I specify both credit card and cheque/money order as payment methods, yet when I shop, credit card is displayed as the only method... message is "This is currently the only payment method available to use on this order"

 

any ideas what can be wrong? I've saved the site and reloaded the shop, logged in a nd out, but still I get no joy

Have you set the cheque display option to true and set the sort order?
