Installation Problems

Hiya!

I'm trying to test this OSCommerce out, with absolutely no joy in the installation. When I try and install the database, it gives me the oscommerce.sql file not found. So I decied to install the database manually with success.

Now having gone back to the OSCommerce installation process, on Step 7 , it keeps on giving me this error message:

Warning: fopen(/htdocs/catalog/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 209

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 210

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 211

Warning: fopen(/htdocs/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 259

Warning: fputs(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 260

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\install\templates\pages\install_7.php on line 261

The configuration was successful!

Now it seems like it hasn't written to the configure.php file, so I decided to edit the information myself.

How everytime I go to the Admin page it gives me the following error message:

Warning: main(includes/languages/.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\admin\includes\application_top.php on line 134

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\admin\includes\application_top.php on line 134

Evertime I click on the "catalog" button, it gives me the following message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare link_get_variable() (previously declared in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\includes\functions\general.php:1267) in \\nas02ent\domains\g\gamefocus.co.uk\user\htdocs\catalog\includes\functions\general.php on line 1297

If there anyone who can help? I'm using a web-based webspace provided by fasthosts which are based in the UK. I believe its using a WIndows based server.

Don't want to ruin your day - but if you do a search of these forums for references to Fasthosts that'll do it for you!

Do yourself a favour, save yourself a lot of grief, and find yourself a decent hosting company. Even half-way decent will be an improvement.

Thanks for the tip!

Could you recommend me any good ones then?

Changing the topic somewhat, I'd ask... are you totally happy with Fasthosts? They do also host on Linux servers, which might be a better option for you, although I'm not sure how much extra it would cost you to shift over. At the risk of sounding like a plug, I've just moved my entire reseller business over to Heart Internet, as they offer MUCH more at an all in one price. eg, did you have to pay extra for MySQL on your package? Thought so.

Either visit http://www.heartinternet.co.uk, or drop me an email at [email protected]

I'd take HI's claims of unlimited webspace and transfer with a pinch of salt, but otherwise it's been good for me so far.
