image display catalog Vs. admin

I made a completly new install of OSCommerce. The install was straight forward with no errors. After install images in the admin and catalog all displayed properly.

I exited out of IE6, and then went back in to the admin. All images display properly. Then I went back into the catalog, and no images display at all.

I have set permissions on the /catalog/images to 777, /catalog/incluces/languages/images (en & esp) to 777

I have looked at both the /catalog/includes/configure.php and the /catalog/admin/includes/configure.php and can see no differences in the path info. These paths were set during install.

Can anyone help me understand why the images dispay properly right after install, but do not display (catalog) when you exit and then go back into it.

This is driving me up the wall. It acts as if it is a path problem, but they work fine until I exit IE6 and then go back in, and in the catalog only. The images in the admin are fine. I have looked at my settings in IE6 and can see nothing that would affect this.

Here are the config files, and yes, I have looked at the post about 3 or 4 down from this one, and I still can't find it. Guess I am having a brain cramp on this.

This installation is on a unix server and I have quite a few pearl cgi programs that work fine. This really has me stumped.

Thanks

Really..... I'm not a cynical person, just most of the people in the world hack me off.....
