Prices & Add to Cart Hidden Until Login

Well, we are about to venture into territory we didn't think we'd be in.

Basically, we need to change our site over & only sell wholesale to retailers. I will change site so that we will create accounts upon request (or make it so all accounts will need to be verified before placing an order). Then I need to do the following:

--Prices not shown until logged in

--Add to cart, etc., options not shown until login (so retail people won't get confused about why they can't check out)

We will have the occasional customer we'll sell to at retail price, so I'll use the contrib for customer groups & pricing to do that.

Currently my "catalog" is broken out as just my main site. --But will I need to redo my site so that the Catalog goes back into its own folder & is only accessible once a user is logged in? Or is there a way to do this (more easily) with OsC through the catalog itself?

I would use the basic structure (now know code well enough to basically do this) so that both sides of the website are similar as far as browsing & appearance, if I must do it that way. It just seems tedious.

Thanks!

Why not set all prices for retail customers (customer group id = zero) to zero and create a group for the retail customers you do want to sell to in addition to a wholesale group. Using the "Hide Price if $0" contribution you can hide the buy now buttons and not show the price for people who are not logged in.

Thank you, Jan! I had searched for a contrib like this but didn't find it until after I had seen your post & did some more searching. This is perfect & will be much, much more simple! Thanks!

Whew! I was hoping not to have to rebuild the whole stinkin' thing again...
