web hosting

all up to the host and the individual packages offered. some very basic hosting does not include a database or php, all the way up to clusters of dedicated servers. it all boils down to what you are looking for/to do and the kind of support you want. more support, telephonee support, the more you pay.

is it every web hosting provider that provide their web hosting plan with php and mysql can support oscommerce?

Hi - my two cents

Take many hosts with a large pinch of salt and if the deal sounds too good then it probably is.

A web server reseller will generally get hardware from the hosting company and then for each box they rent - they will put on as many customers as "wont" bring the box down to it's knees.

So take a box with 40gb hard disk rented at $100 per month - assuming 10 of that is used for system and application software - he puts 30 Gb out to the public at 300mb each which works out at about 100 customers per box -

To recover his cost he can effectively charge each $1.00 per month so he gives you a "deal" for $3 - $5 per month and you think wow what a host :D

you have no control over the box or how the other 99 people use or abuse it, and after the sales pitch and you have made payment try good luck if you try to get action from customer services or technical when things are not working

But not all hosts and resellers are this good - some can get worse :P
