need help with path

I'm not the brightest light in this community and I would need some step-by-step help with the path.

Right now it reads http://alaskakreations.com/osCommerce/catalog/index.php

what would I need to do to get rid of the oscommerce/catalog/?

to have it read http://alaskakreations.com/index.php?

Thanks for any advice

and what about all those

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/osCommerce/catalog/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/osCommerce/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/osCommerce/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/osCommerce/catalog/');

do I have to change them?

Please excuse my stupidity but I'm learning.........

Kristine,

If you haven't done it already, you need to move the files from '/osCommerce/catalog/ to /.

Then, edit the CATALOG lines to just say /. The COOKIE_PATH lines are a different thing. Do a search on the forums. Lots of good examples.

so I take all files out of the oscommerce folder, put them under htdocs and alter the paths in the configure files?

Please be patient but before I screw up everything I worked so hard for I just want to make sure.........

Correct. And the other entries you need are below:

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/'); // onlyif you use ssl - otherwise leave blank

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/'); // only if you use ssl - otherwise leave blank
