ok it seems that it's not transfering the cart contens when switching to secure server https: also when going back to http it's not carrying there "logged in" session back to the http side. anyone know what i need to do to fix this?

You are using a shared ssl cert from powweb. My guess is that in includes/configure.php you have your https_cookie_domain set to something like: https://vssalesnet.secure.powweb.com - and this will not work - you'll drop sessions and lose the contents of the cart while in https mode.

Try this: vssalesnet.secure.powweb.com

If that does not work (and it may not), then try leaving the https_cookie_domain completely blank, and also the https_cookie_path.
