Guest Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I heard OSCommerce can act as a quick set up of your website for a online shop I installed it on my site and have put in all my business info. My question is how do I set it up where my customes will go into the shopping when they goto www.mysite.net?
bobg7 Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I'm going to ass-u-me that you installed osCommerce in the default catalog directory so you have to fo to www.mysite.net/catalog to view it. You can do a few things, if your main index.html page has content in it, create a link to the catalog.index.php. If you want to have osCommerce's index.php has the main page you can a) redirect script (not my first choice) or B) move everything in the catalog directory up one level to the root. If you do that, you will need to edit the 2 includes/configure.php files on you pc to remove the referance to the catalog directories and re-upload them or c) if you havent realy done anything like add products, add contributions or anything major, just delete the catalog directory and ftp everything inside the catalog directory to the root of you website and re-install it. Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.
