Guest Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Maybe I missed a step in the setup but I can access the admin for my store without a UN PW which seemes very insecure, now I know that I can CHMOD it to write protected and I guess password the Admin folder. Is there anything else I may be missing? Also, I have never used OsCommerce before how easy is it to incorporate PayPal as a payment source? The ladys I am doing this for like that look of OS Commerce but mainly want to take pay pal payments only fir their merch. Any Info would be much appreciated.
♥Vger Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 osC does not come by default with password protection on the 'admin' folder. Before applying that protection rename the 'admin' folder to something unique, then in admin/includes/configure.php change the two references to /admin/ to /newname/ Then use your web hosting control panel to Password Protect that directory. PayPal is as simple as it gets. There is a default PayPal module already there, and the new PayPal IPN comes as a small set of stand-alone files which are easy to install. All the ladies have to do is to register with PayPal for an account, and use an e-mail address set up on their domain. Vger
