Securing the 'admin' section of a site

All,

I am new to the osCommerce, and have just finished setting up a site. Before going online, I am looking to secure the admin section of the site. By the admin section I am referring to :

http://<site url>/admin

Currently, it is open and can be accessed by anyone familliar with osCommerce. To avoid this, am I renaming the admin folder on the server until I need to use it ... however this is a pain.

Is there a contribution or config step I am missing that will password protect this section? I did a quick search but did not come up with anything obvious.

Thanks for you help!

why not alter it permanently and change the name in the configure.php file

Hey,

Thanks for the info! I forgot about securing directories with CPanel. That has solved the issue!

Take care,

Dan.
