Disable new account creation?

Hi all,

 

I have installed oscommerce and it looks great! However at the moment I don't require new user signups.. Just for users to buy, and provide shipping details etc.

 

Also what I could also do with is when a user makes a purchase, an email is generated to them with a link to the site to a unique area (for example index.php?47q8q7364, some type of random number) which shows them thier order.

 

Is all this possible?

There are various contributions which allow people to purchase without setting up an account - but in my experience these are not really worth installing. I have tested various versions and I find them more confusing and more time consuming to use than it does to simply create an account and proceed through checkout. But if you want to install one of these mods then you'll find them in Contributions.

 

Any user who has set up an account can view their account details, including any orders they have made via the 'My Account' link.

 

Remember that the following fields in Create Account are optional and can be turned off in 'admin':

 

Gender

D.O.B.

Company

Suburb

State

 

Vger

After much hacking about and using the mods from the contributions list, I have managed to get a template I'm happy with and allowed a user to make a purchase without signing up.

 

However is there a mod to generate an 'order number' of somesort that will allow a user to check there order on the website and possible make modifications?

 

Or something similar?
