Don't edit through File Manager?

In reading another post someone said you definitely don't want to just change the code through File Manager or you will have a huge headache! That is what I have been doing? Oops! Do I need to start over w/ a fresh copy & is that even possible? I do have a backup that is prior to most of the changes -- I may not have saved a 100% clean copy with no text changes. I have pretty much just made minor text changes and inserted a new page in the information box section. I finally got that to work and it seems to be fine. So far I've only entered a few products because I'm still expirimenting and trying to learn this before I enter hundreds of items.

Thanks!

The problem with the File Manager is that it inserts n's into your code. You may see them poping up on various pages. You can edit the pages (but not with File Manager of course) to remove them and all will be right again. I don't think I would go to the extreme of replacing everything. If you see the n's and you don't see how to remove them, just post a message and someone will help you.

For future work, download a free copy of an ftp program and a php editor. Search the forums for suggestions as to which ones are the favorites.
