USPS Shipping Module

Hello! I'm new to osCommerce but I'm estatic that there is such an active user community and this forum.

I e-mailed USPS for my username and password and got that information back. I input it into the USPS shipping module. I also immediately replied back to USPS and they replied back that I should now have access to the production server.

I have the correct ZIP code and country in the admin/shipping information. However, I still get an error message when trying to get quotes for USPS (UPS works fine).

I also downloaded the USPS Modules contribution 2.7 and installed/modified the files accordingly. While I have several more fields available while editing the USPS module settings, there are no field names above the blank fields. Perhaps that contribution is not complete?

Regardless, I'm getting the same error (before and after attempting the contribution install) from the USPS production rate quote server.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Even though everything "seems" to be ok via email, you still need to call them at 800-344-7779 to move you to the production server....go figure.

Also, must be a US based zip/postal code in your admin.

Hmmm . . . I called them and they confirmed that it has been switched to production mode. They also asked what 3rd party product I was using and I said osCommerce. They said there are plugins already (I know this) so it should work (again I know this). :)

So, should I scratch this install or re-install it in another part of my webserver and see if that makes a difference?

Thanks for your very quick reply.

I would start with the basic stock USPS and make sure that all is ok before adding the contribution. It might be that you missed something in contribution install.

I'll do that first and let you know.

Thanks again!

Well, that'll teach me to modify production sites! :)

I re-downloaded, re-uncompressed the osCommerce code and copied back the original files.

And what do you know? The USPS module is working now!

Thanks very much!
